Afrikan American Festival

Our Afrikan American Festival is a family oriented event and one of the major events that we hold annually.  The purpose of this special day is to reach out to the community and celebrate Afrikan heritage and culture through music, dance, art and spoken word. In addition, the festival will build unity, pride, and self-esteem in an effort to improve the quality of life in our community.

The Theme this year is for our Healthy Community Project is “Health Matters”.  This project will focus on working closely and partnering with other agencies for this one-day event; which includes a discussion and disbursement of literature on the facts of obesity and the risks.  In addition, healthy food and snacks will be provided to individuals/families that participate in the program.  Lastly, there will be various activities that promote exercise and physical activity; such as, obstacle course, jump rope challenge, Zumba, dancing and much more.
